Capsule

( 13 )

Born in the pandemic period when every kind of design was in a state of immobility, Capsule is the branch of Kaleidoscope dedicated to the rediscovery of the golden age of Italian design. The main sources of inspiration are magazines from the 1960s to the early 1990s: Casabella, Domus, Modo, Ottagono, and Terrazzo. A hybrid magazine and book, its title is an homage to the Nakagin Capsule Tower, one of the symbols of the Japanese Metabolism movement designed by Kisho Kurokawa and built in 1972 in Tokyo. Capsule is produced at Spazio Maiocchi, the multidisciplinary space set up by Slam Jam and Carhartt WIP.
